It’s so exciting!!  Your big day is almost here. You have booked your shoot, so now It’s time to make sure you’re all set to go.

Here is your go to prep guide for the night before…

What To Do The Night Before Your Boudoir Photoshoot

Like packing for a holiday, it’s important to make sure you have everything ready in advance so in the morning you don’t have to stress that you’ve forgotten anything.

At this point, you will have had a number of conversations on the phone or by email/text with us about the style you’d love your photoshoot to be. We like to gather ideas on Pinterest Boards and use those as inspirations for your shoot, so with this in mind, we’ll have requested from you a few pictures that you love. We have a number of inspiration boards and this is one of them : PINTEREST INSPIRATION BOARD

Outfits - Make sure you bring at least 3 different complete outfits (More if you have them, after all, it’s better to have too many than too few and it means we have options on the day)

Include an all black outfit and some white underwear as well if you have it. Don’t just rely on twin sets of bra and knickers, think of adding a one piece body or teddy which allows more coverage of tummy areas and always looks flattering. An oversized, white dress shirt (a man’s shirt is ideal) looks fabulous for almost every boudoir shoot. Outfits are a very personal choice though and our Boudoir Prep Guide will help with suggestions. THE BOUDOIR PREP GUIDE

Make sure all your outfits are cleaned and ironed before your big day and obviously don’t forget heels and jewelry.

Conisider bring one casual outfit such as jeans and t-shirt and one formal ‘going out’ killer dress with heels since we often start with these so you’re more covered and this will allow you to get over the initial nerves of being photographed.

Also to remember to pack your personal items such as Deodorant, moisturizer, and even tampons, and wipes since forgetting any of these can be really stressful on the day.

While outfits are imortant, nothing beats a good nights sleep before your shoot. Have a long relaxing bath the night before, exfoliate, shave and moisturise. Do this the night before to avoid any redness on your skin.

Drink loads of water and get to bed early.

Honestly, your skin really does glow when properly hydrated and rested. We’d even prefer you to not use fake tan if you can resist though we know that that is a hard habit to break. We all know that smoking is bad for the skin but impossible to control and the same goes for bottled tan. Bad for Photos (trust us when we say this) but we’d rather compromise on this than having you stress too much over not having tanned.

Fingernails and toes always look better with a bit of care and it can be a good idea to check in at the salon before your Boudoir Photoshoot. Snip the labels on your lingerie unless the brands are super cool (Honey Birdette, Agent Provocateur etc)

Most importantly of all - Please don’t stress out before your shoot (I know, easier said than done.) - We’ve had clients turn up with absolutely nothing and still looked incredible in just a bedsheet. Just like Marilyn Monroe did in this shoot
