Frequently asked questions.

I’m really nervous. Is that normal?

It is definitely normal to be nervous for your boudoir photography session, so don’t worry. Most of our clients are nervous until the session has gone on for a few minutes. You’ll have a relaxing hour or so in hair and make-up with plenty of refreshments. When we start the session, you’ll very quickly begin to loosen up. We often start you with a sexy dress and maybe a few pictures outdoors so you’ll get used to the camera and lose the awkward ‘camera face’

How do I know how to pose?

The good news is, you don’t need to know how to pose. We know how to pose you. It’s our job so you don’t need to worry about posing. We know all the tricks to create the most flattering angles for you, no matter what shape or size you are.

Do you provide the wardrobe?

We do not provide an extensive wardrobe, though we do have some individual pieces. We also have white shirts and fabrics which will enhance any boudoir session. In general though, we suggest you bring along your favourite outfits. If you need help choosing an outfit, we can definitely give you some suggestions, though and we also provide a style guide full of ideas. Click this link for the style guide

Do your packages include hair and makeup?

Always! A boudoir session is all about the most beautiful glam you. Fabulous Hair and Make-up are essential and we’ll work with you to achieve a great look. The process of styling lasts around an hour and a half and in this time you’ll feel relaxed and pampered. Perfectly ready for your stylish boudoir photoshoot. Luxury from beginning to end.

What should I bring to my boudoir photography session?

For our sessions, we suggest two to three different outfits and any props you may want to incorporate. Need help choosing props? Check out our prep guide above

Can I bring a friend?

Yes, you can bring a friend if you think it will help you relax. However, sometimes an extra set of eyes has the opposite effect, even if it is a friend. They are more than welcome to come, but if they are making you uncomfortable, they can wait in the Hotel or make-up area while we go to the suites.

Do you photograph women who are full figured?

OF COURSE! If you have curves let’s show them off. There is no measurement that dictates who is beautiful. All figures are beautiful and we’re going to show you that yours is too. At the end of the experience our hope is that you realise that looking good is not a competition and that the only person you need to impress with your looks is yourself.

I might want to do some nudes but I’m nervous. How do you handle nudes?

Posing for nudes is a very vulnerable thing to do, but these are also the photos clients end up cherishing the most. This is something we discuss with you beforehand, and there is absolutely no pressure to do this – it’s only if you want to! We will never ask you to remove an article of clothing during your shoot unless we have discussed it already.

When we shoot nudes, the aim is to portray your figure in a sculptural way.

Will my session be with a male or female photographer?

The photographer is Dave Sander (Male) and has over 2 decades of experience photographing women. Every single photograph on this website has been photographed by him with no associate photographers. It’s the unique Madison Bou style which clients love so much. However, at no point is the client alone with just the photographer. At all times a female stylist is present.

I’m not a model – are boudoir photos still flattering even if my body isn’t perfect?

Absolutely! Nobody is perfect and every woman is sexy. If you have any specific concerns, contact us and we can talk about it! Note… The women on our website are just like you.

Where do your boudoir sessions take place?

We shoot literally anywhere you want! You can see a range of our preferred locations HERE and we can even come to you if you’d like to show off your own home.

Do you do outdoor boudoir sessions?

Yes. We have a beautiful wood. This of course is weather dependent and we ensure complete privacy.

Do you do touchups?

Yes. Photoshop is used extensively to create a fashion magazine style finish. Your images will never look over photoshopped. See the many thousands of pictures on our website for the finished images. (No double chins, cellulite, bingo wings, or ‘mummy tummy’ )

Do I have control over who sees my images?

Yes, most certainly. We will only share photos if you have given us permission and have approved the images for sharing. We respect your wishes and won’t post or share any images if you’d prefer they stay private.

How many photoshoots do you do a day?

We say this while doing our happy dance: ONE! This is because we want to focus 100% of our attention on YOU that day. Certainly we don’t want to constantly check the time and worry that we’re cutting it too close to the next session. You are making an investment in yourself, and we want you to feel confident knowing that we devote our entire time to creating great pictures for YOU!

Do you offer digital images?

Yes, all of our collections come with the corresponding digital images that would end up in your album or Folio box. For a small upgrade fee, all the digitals from the session can be purchased with a collection.

How much does a boudoir session cost?

Pricing is broken down into two parts. The session fee of £189 covers everything except the finished product packages which are sold separately. Packages range in price but they are based on the type and size of products but we’ve done everything we can to simplify the product prices so that you’ll be able to get exactly what you want, rather than what you can afford. Books, Folio Boxes of Art Prints or beautiful wall art all come with associated digitals and all cost roughly the same, depending on the size. Many of our clients invest somewhere between £700 to £1500 on their collections. How much you spend is entirely up to you.

We also offer no-interest payment plans too so you can get the perfect collection.

I’m not sure I feel comfortable spending money on myself

Investing in a personal experience like this is not something you do every day. But it is an experience that you will cherish for your lifetime. On your journey of self love and acceptance, this is the time to explore and enjoy the person you are and see yourself in a more positive way.

We get it, many women have trouble spending money on themselves as they usually put others first. But you know what? Sometimes you need to invest in yourself so you can help others.

Remember we also offer payment plans to make the boudoir experience affordable for everyone.
