CHRISSIE WUNNA has a wonderful life story…

She is a British-South East Asian, Award Winning TV & Film Actress. She is also a Presenter, Author & Blogger. She began her career as a model. Born in Doncaster, South Yorkshire, of Burmese descent, Chrissie Wunna spent 6 years living in Los Angeles, where she worked as a model & actress.

She moved to West Hollywood at 20, to make her dreams of becoming an Actress/Model and TV star come true. She travelled there ALONE, (after her A-Levels, which she took at Ackworth School, a prestigious private boarding school in Pontefract, West Yorkshire,) with nothing but a suitcase in her hand.

Within THREE weeks of arriving in Los Angeles (where she attended an acting school at the TVI Actors Studio, in Sherman Oaks,) Wunna was signed up to her first agent and auditioning for almost every popular Warner Brother’s TV show, including ‘Buffy The Vampire Slayer’ immediately after.

During that time she fell in love with her first husband American Actor ‘Michael Raymond James,’ who was also in the same acting class. He was pulled out of class to audition constantly, booking almost every single TV show going, yet resided in New York. Chrissie had been scouted at a coffee shop by modeling agent, that would set her Glamour Modelling career alight. Michael moved from New York to LA to live with Chrissie and to pursue his career. Within months, he asked her to marry him.

They married at the lavish Hotel Bel-Air, (even though the couple had already secretly married in a Beverly Hills registry office,) after a previous attempt to marry in Vegas, where Michael jilted Chrissie at the altar, because he wanted to ‘marry her properly.‘ They had only known each other a couple of weeks, at that point.

Life then became difficult and partying became predominant in Chrissie’s world which was now being hailed as ‘Wunna land.’ She spent her evenings frolicking at some of Hollywood’s most famous haunts and with some of Hollywood’s most famous names.

Every morning, after an evening of partying Chrissie would go to a bookstore, for coffee and to check out the ‘Self Help’ section of the Barnes & Noble on 3rd & La Cienega, West Hollywood.

She stayed in Hollywood for a decade, but eventually the call to return to Yorkshire was too great.

Back in the UK for good, now, Chrissie has just been filming two back-to-back feature films, with Jagged Edge Productions playing ‘Sienna Woods’ (Lead) in ‘Dinosaur Hotel’ and the role of ‘May’ in ‘War of the Monsters.’

She is Best known for the feature film ‘The Boat That Rocked’ for Universal, Directed by Richard Curtis.

Chrissie made her British TV debut, on ITV2’s hit show ‘Paris Hilton’s Best Friend’ In 2009.

She was recently also cast on the British Channel 4 show ‘First Dates,’ with the network stating she made ‘First Dates History’ by having the most ‘sexually charged date in FD history.’

Chrissie also appeared as part of the main cast of the ‘fly on the wall’ documentary ‘Sex Toy Stories’ for Channel 4, where she was chosen by the CEO of Ann Summers to represent women of the UK & create a sex toy range, that was successful sold in stores nationwide.

Chrissie Wunna is also currently a regular ‘Lunch Mate’ on popular, daytime tv, talk show ‘Steph’s Packed Lunch.’ 12:30- Weekdays- Channel 4.

So… Social influencer, model, actress, and full-time 40-year-old working Mum. In other words, one of life’s overachievers. The kind of person who will exhaust you just by thinking of all the things she crams into her week.

We were lucky enough to have her visit our studios at Hazlewood Castle last week. She was one of the most down-to-earth people we’ve ever met. Her Mum came with the kids as well and we learned about Chrissie’s crazy, televised labour. Yep, she gave birth on telly with her Mum by her side. (Useful as Mum is a senior gynecologist … It’s all on YouTube. !!!)

It’s so refreshing to have such a free spirited, independant woman in her 40s still living life to the max, no matter what life has thrown at her over the years.
