Leeds Corn Exchange, an architectural gem nestled in the heart of the city, One of only three corn exchanges in the UK with a three-tier structure. In this article, we take you on a fashion shoot in and around this iconic building, where we had the pleasure of photographing the fabulous Monika both inside and outside this historic landmark.

The Corn Exchange is a Grade I listed building that showcases Victorian architecture at its finest. With its striking dome, intricate ironwork, and grand entrance, it offers a picturesque backdrop for any photoshoot. The building's rich history dates back to 1862 when it was originally built as a corn market, and it has since transformed into a bustling hub of independent retailers, boutiques, and creative spaces.

This Gothic styled shoot at the iconic Midland Hotel in Bradford was a testament to the importance of setting up these unique and imaginative projects.

A Mum and Daughter Shoot Experience…

This style of photoshoot is really close to my heart. My Mum died a few years ago and I spent hours looking through family pictures.

Eventually, I found three good ones of Mum and none of her with the whole family. We had literally hundreds of pictures, on film, slides and prints, yet we had none of the pictures that really mattered. I realised then that it was too late.

From start to finish the whole day was full of fun and laughter and even before I had even had my make up done they made me feel at ease. The idea of Modest Boudoir may seem to be a contradiction. You see women posing in revealing lingerie or nude and think, I could never do that! Here’s the thing – YOU DON’T HAVE TO DO THAT IF YOU DON’T WANT TO!

A Madison Bou Boudoir Photoshoot isn’t about lingerie or how much you dare to bare, it’s about what makes you feel beautiful and sexy. We want you to feel empowered and we believe you should always wear what you are comfortable in. That said, it’s often more empowering when you push your boundaries a little, so we certainly encourage you to push yourself with an experience like this, but everyone’s comfort level is different.

Some women are completely comfortable getting naked in public whereas others wouldn’t dare to bare even to their husband.

There’s no judgement here.

Everyone is unique. The only thing we can say is that everyone will gain so much confidence and look and feel beautiful after this experience. Everyone!

So many of our clients want great photographs of the art they’ve invested in and we adore all creative tattoos. So much fun, so cool and they always look amazing in pictures.

I first became interested in body art when I watched a film in the mid 90s starring Ewan McGregor called the Pillow Book, a dark and sensual story of lust and revenge by Peter Greenaway. The film fascinated me and filled me with possibilities. Our bodies really can be wonderful parchments for some great art.

A Boudoir Experience with Madison Bou Photography is all about learning to set some time aside and prioritise showing ourselves some love and compassion once in a while.

You see, as a general rule, we spend so much time prioritising those we love in our life that we never seem to put aside any time for ourselves. It can be exhausting looking after our significant other and the kids and pretty soon we find that we have no life at all.

This shoot was all about dresses and Glam hair and Makeup for most of the most part. We always wait until our clients are completely comfortable before we do some lingerie shots and some clients are happy in just dresses. That’s the thing about our photoshoots, it’s entirely up to you and your personal comfort levels. It’s very rare that our clients don’t push themselves a little beyond their expectations because we make everything so fun and relaxed, but, rest assured in the knowledge that, whatever you end up wearing, you will look super sexy and feel amazing. That’s just what we do!

As a mother of three children I wanted to feel confident again. I’m so incredibly happy with my photos and can’t stop staring at them. As I get older, I’ve wanted something to look back on to remind me that the strong, sexy part of me is still there, despite pushing it aside to be a full time mum. I first came across Malmaison Hotel when I arrived in Leeds from London, 20 years ago.

I was the presenter of the Mid Morning show on Real Radio, Yorkshire and I arrived on this particular Sunday with all my bags to meet ‘Rossy’ who was my ‘competitor’ on Aire FM at the time. He had offered to put me up until I settled into a new place in the City.

At the table was Chris Moyles, who I’d briefly worked with in Milton Keynes (His work ethic was incredible then. It was obvious he was going to go far. Such a talent)

The man sitting next to me was wearing a baseball cap and introduced himself as ‘Dom’. Dom and I chatted for an hour or so. The following weekend, I bumped into him in a bar and he called me over and treated me as an old friend.

One of the big questions you’ll need to ask yourself early on is how you want your pictures to look.

Some of our clients want to feel the excitement and ‘rush’ of baring all in front of the camera. Totally naked, indoors, or even bolder, outdoors in nature. ( Some studios call this ‘Fine Art’ style )

Other clients don’t want to go that far and prefer the idea of wearing lingerie and being photographed in a more sensual way. (This is more traditional ‘Boudoir’ style )

A third group of clients prefer the idea of being photographed with clothes for a more Fashion look ( We call this ‘Glamour or Beauty’ style )

The decision you make is entirely up to you and your personal comfort level. Many women think they’s like to go bolder but during the shoot play a little safer and other go the other way. Start with stretchy jumpers and white shirts and then graduate to white sheets and soon muster up the courage to walk around totally naked without a care in the world! (If we happen to be photographing in a luxury Hotel we often find ourselves pleeding with clients to cover up so that the hotel guests aren’t offended. Honestly, that’s more common than you can imagine.

The truth is though, we actively encourage you to arrive with an open mind.

She wanted a more fashion style shoot and the weather was perfect to shoot much of the day outdoors. This is perfect for the cowboy boots and jeans that Tina loved. She ended up with a book, a Folio Box of wall prints and 2 larger Alumini wall prints.
