A Madison Bou Experience is a transformational experience that will change the way you see yourself.
A grandiose claim but one we believe in after hearing so many of our clients’ feedback after their shoots. (See some of them in our CLIENTS SECTION )
All our Photoshoot experiences are unique to each client. This means that we don’t have a standard amount of time, or set poses or specify a number of outfit changes. It’s all led by you.
Our aim is to work together on a collaborative photoshoot to create the pictures that will make you feel good about yourself in a style that resonates with you. This could mean biker jacket and jeans, Ball gowns, Lingerie, kinky or starkers out doors (Yep, happens more often than you’d think!)
Our shoot experiences are designed for women with great taste who are on a self-love journey. We’ll work together to plan a shoot that suits YOU, whether that means sky high heels or thigh length boots, giant wind screen wiper lashes or no makeup and cut off jeans. (or even clingfilm or a towel … See below…. )
All Madison Bou Photoshoots cost just £189 and that includes the following:
CONSULTATION & PLANNING. A consultation is as much for us as it is for you. We need to know a little bit about you so that we can create a perfect day just for you. What’s your motivation for booking the shoot in the first place? Confidence, a gift, celebrating a life achievement? Do you have any health issues or practical issues we should know about? Would you like mainly fashion styles or more boudoir or even try fine art nude. Which pictures have you seen which attracted you to us initially? Have you got a theme in mind. (Vintage/retro, Modern Glam, Hollywood Glam, Fine art, outdoors casual, voyeuristic, fashion style, Shades of Grey?)
We use a variety of different venues for our shoots and each venue has a very different feel. We can talk you through these to help you decide what works best for you. Do you want a wide variety of different looks for a variety of different uses or are you looking to create a special piece of wall art for the bedroom for example? All these things need talking through and so the consultation is so important. We’ll discuss wardrobe ideas, hair and makeup ideas, dates and answer any concerns and questions you may have. The consult and planning stage takes the form of a couple of phone-calls, normally from Dave ( that’s me, the photographer) and Jayne ( My partner and stylist.) and ideas via Pinterest and a short series of emails packed with ideas. We have a pretty comprehensive Boudoir Prep Guide and Boudoir Magazine and you’ll get those as well.
No one ever turns up to our sessions not knowing what to expect. We’ll help you every step of the way.
STYLING ADVICE. Shopping for outfits can be overwhelming, so we’ll send you a detailed styling guide with suggestions on what to wear for your shoot. If there are particular things you struggle with (larger cup sizes, very petite frames, etc.) Jayne will be able to make some suggestions during your pre-shoot consultation. We also have a list of favourite lingerie shops and brands and you can see those in the RESOURCES SECTION of our site.
HAIR & MAKEUP. Before every photoshoot you’ll be pampered like a movie star with up to two hours styling with lashes included.
THE BEST SHOOT LOCATIONS. Our shoots take place in a variety of top locations, including the historic rooms and Suites of Hazlewood Castle, for a more contemporary look we use the Great Victoria Hotel in Bradford and the amazing Penthouse and we love shooting in the exclusive York Apartments (See some of the locations we use - venue locations ) We never limit ourselves to these locations though, we are constantly striving to find new places to photograph our Boudoir Clients. (We even shoot in clients’ homes for a super personal shoot)
FULL DIRECTION THROUGHOUT. We want this to be the best photographic experience you’ve ever had. Jayne is a teacher by profession so she’s a pretty good communicator and before that she danced professionally for 20 years (Including Moulin Rouge in Paris) so she knows more about posing than pretty much anyone and I was a radio broadcaster for 20 years which taught me the art of being friendly and fun. Invaluable when dealing with a nervous client. We’ve had 20 years of making women feel comfortable in front of th camera (even in various states of undress), so there’s no need to worry. We have the experience to be able to guide you through this and make it fun along the way. We will walk you through every pose, and often do the poses with you. I’ll distract you with random stories, and I’ll be your cheerleader every step of the way. No experience necessary, first-timers are especially welcome.
PHOTO SHOOT WITH NO CLOCK WATCHING AND NO LIMIT ON OUTFITS. A Madison Bou Boudoir Session typically lasts about two and a half hours. That said, Everyone’s different. This is why, unlike other studios who are more volume based, we never photograph more than one client a day. Some people take a little longer to warm up in front of the camera than others. In fact some people love being in front of the camera but pull a crazed ‘selfie’ face or ‘trout pout’ after years of social media. This takes time to retrain into something that looks natural and like ‘you’. What we do say is that, we will work with you until we’re done. However long it takes. (Some clients have more stamina than others and often ask if they can continue their shoot outdoors or try something different. If you’ve got the energy then, we’ll carry on. We’d photograph you all night if you’re up for it. There are occasions when a client simply runs out of energy and asks if she can come back and try something else another time. (Such as Emily’s Photoshoot)
IMAGE REVEAL & PRODUCT ORDERING. All the images you see at your viewing and fully finished and print ready. Normally you’ll see around 60-100 pictures and you’ll never see an image that isn’t worthy of printing for your wall. We work a little differently to those studios that do same day viewings. They work on the basis that if you view your pictures straight after the rush of the shoot, you’re in ‘primed to buy’ mode and the excitement will get you to spend money. We prefer to take our time with the edit so the pictures you see will be the best of our ability and the best of you. Also, a full day of pampering and posing can need you feeling like a rest. Better to come back at a later date, (Normally about 2 weeks later) all relaxed and excited to see the results than make important purchase decisions while feeling worn out. Keep in mind though, we don’t believe in drastically altering your appearance or body type, but we do support small alterations that result in a polished, professional-looking final image. The truth is, most of what we do in Photoshop has nothing to do with changing body shapes – it’s more about colour toning, and skin work. I’m in favour of correcting any lumps and bumps that appear due to wardrobe or posing, removing runs in stockings, and cleaning up things that are temporary or annoying such as bruises, acne, flyaway hairs, etc. Bottom line is this – everyone is at a different point in their self-acceptance journey, so if there’s something that drives you crazy (cellulite? forehead wrinkles? scars? stretch marks?) just let us know and we can tone it down or make it disappear. Again, everyone’s different. As you walk in to your viewing session, you’ll be greeted by a fabulous portrait of you on the cover of a magazine. Some feel silent shock and need a few minutes to adjust to this, some take a while to even recognise themselves, some cry with happiness and relief.
(Like CHARLOTTE who told us “When I returned for the viewing I was excited but scared and unsure of what to expect. I sat in the office with my mum and on the computer screen was a magazine cover. I remember thinking at the time the lady on the front looked really attractive, never did I think that it was me.
When we sat down to view the pictures, they pointed out that that was me and from that point on I couldn’t stop the tears. Picture after picture and I looked amazing in every one. I bought all my pictures as I really couldn’t chose a favourite. I loved them all. I would recommend Madison Bou to anyone as what they do is priceless and so empowering.”After the initial slide show, we’ll go through the images one by one and start picking favourites. Then, we’ll make selections for products and packages and do any necessary design work. We offer a range of beautiful photographic albums, archival wall art and folio boxes and bundled packages of products suitable for all budgets and you can see them all at the viewing.
