Confidence Doesn’t Just Happen

Confidence is not something you’re born with, it’s something that you have to work hard to achieve. (Like all good things in life)

Jayne has danced in front of thousands of people in outlandish costumes on prestigious stages such as Moulin Rouge in Paris and all over the world in Japan, Korea, Greece, Italy and Austria. Did she do all that without nerves on stage or without losing confidence? Of course not. Overcoming nerves and stage fright takes real effort. Lots of rehearsals and being well practiced at what you do helps of course but this is what it takes to overcome nerves.

I spent nearly 30 years on the radio, every day broadcasting to thousands of people in their homes and workplaces. Just looking at the microphone and trying to work out what to say as the 3 minute record started to fade out slowly would fill me with dread. I would often be asked to walk out on stage in front of thousands of people to entertain them for a few minutes until I had to introduce the main act. They didn’t want to see me, they’d paid good money to see the main act and wanted this idiot off the stage as soon as possible. You think that’s not terrifying? Switching on the Leeds Lights, Introducing Status Quo at Wembley, running around with a microphone being the ‘translator’ for the Shaolin Monks at London’s Docklands Arena in front of 10,000 people, not absolutely terrifying? Of course it was.

No one is born with confidence, you work hard at it.

Are You A Little Scared Of Leaving Your Comfort Zone?

We know what it’s like to be shaking with fear. We know what it’s like to consider not going out on stage because the fear of messing up becomes all consuming. But both Jayne and I have worked hard to overcome any fear me may have had and go to the metaphorocal edge and just ‘jump’!

Oh, the rush, though, when you do it is insanely good. imagine how Jayne felt that first night after having danced on one of the most famous stages in the world. How good did that feel?

We know what you might be feeling about doing your first Boudoir Photoshoot.

You don’t like the thought of looking at yourself in the mirror, in a dark room, with no lights, let alone others watching you with a camera in hand!!!????

Absolutely super scary!

Why on earth would you put yourself through that much fear?

Well, the simple answer is to get through the experience and come out the other side is one of the greatest feelings you will have in your entire life. It’s a rush! It’s why people bunjee jump, or climb mountains or fly in helicopters. It’s the same reason why performers go out on stage every night in front of audiences, it’s the rush of adrenalin you feel when you step out of your comfort zone.

Don’t Think You’re Alone

Don’t think that by being good at something, it makes the experience any easier. Robin Williams was one of the greatest performers of his generation yet was famously almost paralysed with self doubt and fear.

Yes, we know what you will be going through in your head before taking off your clothes and putting on some lingerie that you’d be nervous wearing, even in front of your husband. We know what fear feels like.

We will provide a safe and comfortable space for your photoshoot with no fear of judgement. A space that will encourage you to express yourself freely and most importantly have fun. It’s important that not only do you grow in condidence with this experience but that you thouroughly enjoy the entire experience. That way, you’re more likely to want to do it again and again, just like so many of our clients.

Think you’re not good enough?

We think you are perfect just the way you are.

Have some fun with us and leave your worries at the door!

Your (Final Moments) Boudoir Session Checklist

Getting ready for a boudoir session? Great!

You may already have the outfits in mind that you want to wear and an idea of how you want your hair and makeup, but have you checked off these boxes?

1.     Come Up with an Empowering Mantra: Having the nervous jitters before your shoot is completely normal, but one of the best ways to psyche yourself up is to repeat an affirmative mantra or positive phrase! (We post them on the Facebook group every Monday as Mantra Monday) Maybe it’s “I’m sexy and I know it!” or “I am grateful for all that I am,” or “May I be kind to myself today and always.”

2.     Make Yourself a Fun Playlist: Great music can really set you up for a killer shoot. Choose 20 to 30 of your favorite songs (I recommend mostly upbeat pieces to keep energy up - See our recommended songs - 10 songs for the perfect Boudoir Playlist) and be ready to press play the day of your shoot.

3.     Model the Heck Out of Your Outfit: Reserve 30 to 60 minutes sometime between now and your boudoir session to put on your outfits. The more comfortable you are in the outfits, the more comfortable you’ll be on the day of the shoot! Also, tell yourself how awesome you look in each one and call out your favorite physical feature in each outfit.

4.     Write Down Why You’re Doing This: Take a good 15 to 20 minutes to write down the reasons why you decided to do a boudoir shoot. Maybe it’s to embrace your body or you want to give a milestone gift to your partner. Whatever the reason, this session is a celebration of those reasons, and we’re going to have an amazing time!
