Outdoor Boudoir -Jennifer’s 2nd Photoshoot

Outside in our spooky wood at Hazlewood Castle - Boudoir Style Woodland Photoshoot

I stumbled across Madison Bou when I was searching for a local photographer to take promotional shots for my business. I wanted to find someone who could really capture the essence of an empowered woman on camera. Looking through the website I saw image after image of beautiful, confident, sensual, feminine women. Yet each one was unique and different, in a way that was clearly personal to them. I knew I had found my photographer and messaged straight away! Dave and Jayne were such a great team to work with and they went above and beyond to achieve the shots and look I wanted. Jayne’s hair and make up made me look and feel so beautiful. I was astounded by the results, it was exactly what I hoped for and more.
— Jennifer

We got to know Jennifer when she booked a photoshoot with us earlier in the year in one of the main Hazlewood Castle Suites and loved the shoot so much because of her incredible sense of style and purpose. We were overjoyed when she turned to us again to do an outdoor boudoir photoshoot with a sensual ‘back to nature’ feel. This is the result of her second photoshoot, this time in the woodland cabin and using the fabulous outdoors area of woodland which is secluded and perfect for this kind of shoot. The day turned out to be perfect and we asked Jennifer to explain a little more about her unique business aimed at women, called ‘Moon Awakening’.

On a gorgeous day like this, it’s ideal for Jayne to work her hair and make-up outdoors.

IN JENNIFER’S OWN WORDS

I started my business after working in a corporate world for over ten years. I was feeling burnt and joyless and I wanted to do something I felt passionate about and that inspired me.

My business is mainly aimed at women who are interested in feminine energy work and understanding themselves through astrology and human design, which naturally promotes self development and inner work. I named my business Moon Awakening in honour of the cyclical nature of women and how that links to the moon cycles.

I also used the moon as the inspiration for my branding as my mum past away in 2016 and her astrology sign was a Cancer and the moon is ruled by Cancer.

East Meets West

I use the term ‘Human Design’ a lot in my business.

Essentially, this is a beautiful synthesis of Western and Eastern belief systems.

Human Design combines the Chinese I-Ching, Vedic Astrology, the Kabbalah Tree of Life, the Hindu Chakras, and Quantum Physics.

It could even be viewed to be the ultimate personality profile and in essence is a map of how to live! It helps individuals to align with who you are and not with who you have been conditioned to be.

It opens doors that allow you to follow your own trajectory, so that you can make decisions that are right for you and follow the path that you were meant to follow.

I believe that we are all on this plane of existence as a collective energy and that Human Design enables individuals to unlock their soul purpose and find more ease and fulfilment in every day life. It can be a valuable tool for human understanding and helps people to discover what makes them different from everyone else and how they are designed to function in this world and relate with others.

Offering a profound insight into their psychology, along with strategies and techniques for making correct decisions and eliminating conflict from their every day life.

I am currently offering Human Design readings, from basic readings to a much more in-depth analysis. Online booking is available on my website. I am also currently in the process of branching out into online feminine energy courses and coaching packages, which will be launched in the early part of next year.

I have always loved and had a passion for art and timeless fashion. I adore the classic, feminine and elegant looks of the Hollywood screen sirens from the 40’s, 50’s and 60’s.

I base my style on Audrey Hepburn, Grace Kelly, Rita Hayworth, Marilyn Monroe and Sophia Lauren, to name a few.

I have a wardrobe filled with timeless, quality garments that can be used year after year.

I am also a trained image consultant and use the Kibbie body types and colour analysis when it comes to creating the perfect wardrobe for an individual.

The Deep Dark Woods…

Feminine Energy Work

When I am not absorbing myself in all things human design, I have developed a keen interest in the history of women and have studied the art of femininity. I enjoy sharing my knowledge with the female collective about all things to do with women’s wellness, health, nutrition and cycle syncing with the moon. I am also fascinated with masculine and feminine polarity and how it has developed through evolution. I believe that through understanding this dynamic it can serve us and enable better and more fulfilling relationships. Through sharing what I have discovered I hope to encourage women to unlock and harness their inner power, tapping into their divine feminine energy.

What are my thoughts on Boudoir for any woman considering it?

As part of my feminine energy work, I encourage women to tap into both their light and dark feminine energy. I would highly recommend a boudoir shoot to any lady who wanted to uncover their dark feminine power. It really helps unlock that sensual confidence but while being in a safe and liberating environment. I have always appreciated the work of the photographer Helmut Newton and when I discovered Dave also loved his work, it was no wonder I was so drawn to Madison Bou! At first glance Newtons’ images seem to be subject to the male gaze but on closer inspection there is such an amazing amount of feminine power within them, Newton really captures the allure of the femme fatale (who is the archetype of the dark feminine). I could not have been more thrilled with my Helmut Newton inspired boudoir shoot.
