We never restrict our couples to the confines of a studio. This photoshoot experience is all about you and your story not us. When it comes to picking out the location for your couple boudoir photo shoot there are loads of options.
Clearly there are some obvious places to go to like your home, but there might be some you didn’t think of before.
The most important thing is that you feel comfortable and relaxed at the couple boudoir location you decide to go with.
This ensures capturing real images of you as a couple instead of a nervous and awkward version.

• YOUR HOME
The most obvious place to select as your couple boudoir location is your own home.
You will probably feel the most relaxed here, since… well there is no place like home after all.
Don’t worry about how your home looks either, since there’s always a good spot to use.
Be it in your own bed with just some window light or maybe that little corner on the couch with the last light of day. It’s never been the case where we couldn’t find a good spot somewhere. That said, if you’ve just gone to town and fitted a swimming pool or hot tub at home, then even better!
You really don’t need a fancy environment to create amazing pictures of the two of you looking fabulous.

DECIDING WHAT TO WEAR
Determining what to wear during a couple boudoir photo shoot can be tough. It’s a great idea to start with deciding the style and feel of your photo shoot. We can discuss ideas together in the days leading up to your photoshoot.
Ask yourself some questions to get an idea though, such as - How cozy, intimate or sexy do you want to make the shoot?
This will ultimately point you towards a certain type of wardrobe choice.
Keep in mind though, the most important factor is wearing outfits that make you feel confident.
When it comes to shooting something as intimate as a couple boudoir shoot, the clothing that comes to mind first for many is probably lingerie.
Although many people consider lingerie a sexy and empowering outfit, it doesn’t necessarily have to feel like that for everyone.
Wearing something that feels right for you and gives you the confidence boost to be yourself is the most important thing during a couple boudoir shoot. As we said earlier, there are No Rules. This is your day.
If you’d prefer casualwear, go with jeans, t-shirts and a pair of docks, wear his white shirt and heels to vamp things up a little or maybe a stretchy oversized jumper as a dress or with cheeky shorts and knee length socks. Go sporty together with sportswear or wear a sexy L.B.D or a stunning ball gown. …Girls are you listening? This advice is for you as well. :-)
We always advise our clients that you should bring something lingerie based and a pair of Calvin Kleins with you ‘just in case’ you feel you want to amp up the sexiness a little. So many clients tell us that the one thing they regret is leaving the sexy outfits at home because they didn’t expect to feel so confident and empowered during the shoot. Imagine you’re stars in your very own movie. What would they wear during the romantic scenes?
Starting your couple session with something less revealing and then easing into lingerie when you feel the confidence could also be a great idea.
It might just be the cherry on top of the cake to finish your couple shoot.
Of course, it doesn’t have to be lingerie for your shoot. Find any clothing that makes you feel amazing and sexy if you want.
Typically in these photo shoots, couples put on a favourite outfit, rock some sexy lingerie or bare it all, while touching, kissing, cuddling and just soaking up each other’s passion.

It can be in the kitchen, where you prepare breakfast and have a few cuddles. A bubble bath is also a popular theme for couples boudoir photography.
Or you can go to a location that has some special meaning for both of you.
Maybe it’s the place of you first date or first kiss. There are no limits to where you can do your photoshoot.

Lingerie is one of the most common outfits for boudoir photography. But underwear is not the only option for these shoots as you can see. We always discuss at length the style and theme that you’d like your shoot to convey and discuss the right outfits to work with the theme.
More and more clients are getting adventurous these days and even trying nude or ‘implied’ nude since they see our work elsewhere on this website. Over the last 20 years specialising in Boudoir, we have mastered the art of posing with bedsheets for example to show what you want to show and keep what you don’t want to show, covered.
We can even pose you nude in a way that you can cover each other’s body parts. You’ll have more fun doing something like this than you’ll ever imagine. (Ever seen “Love Actually?” )

We have learned over the years to be as unintrusive as possible and yet offer clear direction since we know that it’s highly likely that you’ve never had a professional photoshoot like this before.
Tell a Story
Most couples have a story together that we do our best to capture through our boudoir photography.
We make sure we capture the dynamics of the two of you together. How you interact together, kiss together, laugh together. We want to capture a sense of the romance you share and photograph in an authentic way the cuddles and the kisses.
If your relationship is more about fun, maybe we’ll set up a pillow or food fight. Whatever it is, we want to show your story in pictures and that’s what makes this kind of photoshoot so amazing to do.
Boudoir Props That Fit Who You Are
We may use a few objects or items that are personal to you to help create the right mood.
Pillows and blankets can be used to create a cozy boudoir session vibe.
Candles and rose petals can add a touch of romance to a scene.
You can also use objects like wine bottles and glasses and cups of coffee or books/ magazines to create more natural vibes.
